Samuel Hardy's biography you have for him on your website has incorrect information about his death and burial. I have been in communication with the historians at Christ Church in Philadelphia and Trinity (St. Paul's Church) in NYC. There are seveal newpaper articles of that time listed below which detail Samuel Hardy's death and funeral. https://www.newspapers.com/image/39957599/?terms=samuel%20hardy&match=1 https://www.newspapers.com/image/39387449/?terms=samuel%20hardy&match=1 https://www.newspapers.com/image/233627881/?terms=samuel%20hardy&match=1 They report that Samuel Hardy died at his home on Beekman Street in NYC on October 17, 1785 and was buried in St. Paul's Church (Now Trinity Church) on October 18, 1785 with the entire Congress in attendance. Congress was in NYC at that time and did not move to Philadelphia until 1790. I have been communicating with the historians of both Christ Church in Philadelphia and Trinity Church in NYC. The historians of Christ Church can find no records of Samuel Hardy being buried there. The historians at Trinity Church cannot locate any records of his grave marker but agree that the newspaper stories imply his funeral and burial were at St. Paul's Church cemetery. They said their records could be incomplete for that time period. They also verified that Rev. Beach (misspelled Bache in the articles) who gave the sermon was at St. Paul's church at that time but could not locate the actual funeral sermon. Samuel Hardy was an ancestor of mine and many references have conflicting information about his death and funeral. You should verify this information and correct the information you have on Samuel Hardy on your websites. Tom Krauser 518-729-0209
