Biography
M. E. Mitchell is an Irish botanist and writer. Mitchell was born in Galway and educated at St. Mary's College and University College Galway graduating with a BSc in 1956. In 1961 he obtained his doctorate at University of Rennes 1 from which time he was employed at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In 1962 he was appointed lecturer with the Department of Botany at U. C. G. In 1976 he was Associate Professor of Botany.
