Allein machen sie dich ein 49 years old

December 8, 1971, Berlin Kreuzberg: a building of the former Bethanien Hospital is squatted by young homeless people, most of them coming from youth asylums or authoritarian families, in search of a self-determined form of living. The name given to the house was Georg von Rauch Haus, from the name of a comrade killed by the police some days before. In the first years, a huge number of documents were produced: newspapers, books, music, and films. These documents created a strong solidarity among the social movements in Berlin and in West Germany, preserving the Rauch Haus from eviction and promoting the practice of squatting among proletarian youths to experiment with collective life. "Allein machen sie dich ein” (1974) represents an example of collectively seizing the media, coming after the first video report made in Rauch Haus two years before by WDR (West German public television).
