"Tom-cat" was my grandfather.. mother's dad.. we know he also played baseball under alias names... 1905 to 1919... the stats only know about his real name... many holes in records... He pitched for Villanova 1905 and beat Georgetown in shutout win over huge catholic school rivalry...... i suspect he also played under an alias for other New York (Manhattan) and new England teams as many players of the era did ...especially with his Irish ancestry and the "Irish need not apply" era... Tom Conway was another name he used... but big holes in his known career stats... really poor record keeping in those days... really bad team organizations too... We also know he umpired before his death in 1920 of the Spanish Flu.... A man of great mystery who died way too soon for the sport and his family...
