Edward Francis Dunn was head coach of the University of Miami football program from 1943 to 1944 while previous head coach Jack Harding served in the American military in World War II. Dunn grew up in Miami Florida. He was a running back from 1935 to 1939 serving as team captain in 1935 and 1939 of the Miami Hurricanes football team. In 1938 he played in the first Miami-Florida game scoring all three touchdowns in a 19-7 Miami win.
