Jerry Moore was an American football player and coach. He was born on July 18, 1939 (died on September 26, 1890, he was 80 years old) in Windsor. Gerald Hundley Jerry Moore was the head football coach of the Appalachian State University Mountaineers located in the town of Boone in Watauga County North Carolina. He served as head coach since 1989 and was forced to step down following the 2012 season. In his 24 years in Boone Moore posted a losing season only once. He led the Mountaineers to the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship in 2005.
